WSM - BRAND ALERT: RICK OWENS EXCLUSIVELY FOR MODES WITH SWAMPGOD

Rick Owens is the designer who redefined the concept of avant-garde and introduced a totally new aesthetic to the contemporary fashion scene with his revolutionary vision. Today, he presents a new concept linked to sustainability with a strong spirit of reinvention and collaboration: a first capsule, exclusively for MODES, offering a range of upcycled garments rethought and reworked by the young Venetian designer Swampgod.

The collection is totally unisex and revolves around the comfortable, easy-to-wear jersey garments that are at the core of Rick Owens world in the neutral shades that are a true visual signature of the brand. From bomber jackets and hoodies to sleeveless tops and shorts, the clothes respond to the need of being timeless, far from seasonality and trends, for a truly sustainable collection.

The quest for sustainability has always been a driving force for MODES that transformed the shop through an installation and its windows with a series of reassembled mannequins.

As the designer said, "I am very passionate about the debate that is currently affecting the fashion industry on the need to rethink the production process in a more responsible way. And it was with this proactive spirit that I asked Swampgod to rework some pieces from past seasons, with the same approach with which I started working on my collections 20 years ago".

Aldo Carpinteri, Founder & CEO of MODES confirms that sustainability is a top priority for his store, already explored through a series of projects and processes. "Becoming the showcase for a collection that expresses all the creative potential linked to the world of upcycling is a further step in that direction, and we are very happy to remain a laboratory of experimentation and expression for the most important designers and new talents."
